5 QUALITY FEATURES
EvoFire NET CALORIFIC VALUE
In the combustion of wood pellets, the net calorific value is the amount of heat given off without taking into account the condensation heat of the water. EvoFire Premium Pellets exceed the ENplus A1 standard with ≥4.9 kWh/kg and have a higher net calorific value. This ensures more energy and thus greater cost efficiency when heating.
EvoFire ABRASION
Abrasion is caused by mechanical impact during the transport and storage of pellets. The lower the abrasion or the higher the mechanical strength, the less susceptible the heating system is to malfunctions. The ENplus A1 standard is ≥ 98 %. This value is exceeded by EvoFire with ≥ 99.3 % which reflects the outstanding quality of EvoFire Premium Pellets.
EvoFire FINE CONTENT
Fine particles of wood pellets are particles smaller than 3.15 millimetres. Many small particles have an unfavourable effect on combustion and in many cases cause faults in the heating system. A high proportion of fine particles among the pellets also results in more ash. EvoFire Premium Pellets, with <0.1%, are also well below the specifications of ENplus A1 in this respect.
EvoFire ASH CONTENT
The ash content is the amount of combustion residue produced when burning the wood pellets. EvoFire Premium Pellets have an ash content of ≤ 0.3 % and are well below current minimum values. This ensures that the heating system runs smoothly and prevents deposits. The low ash content of EvoFire also reduces the release of emissions during heating.
EvoFire RESIDUAL MOISTURE
The water content of wood pellets is the percentage of water in relation to the total wood mass. The specified ENplus A1 standard limits the water content to a maximum of 10%. The EvoFire Premium Pellets actually exceed this standard and, at ≤7.2%, are significantly below the maximum value. This leads to soot-free combustion and reduces heating costs.

The pellets are made from about 90% sawmill by-products such as sawdust and residual wood, which are by-products of the sawmill industry.

Wood pellets are CO2-neutral because when they are burned, only the amount of CO2 that the tree extracted from the atmosphere during growth is released. Thus, pellets are in line with a renewable and environmentally friendly use of resources.
Do wood pellets have a shelf life?
Since wood pellets are not perishable goods, they do not have a shelf life. If stored in a dry place, without mechanical impacts, they can be kept for a period of time without any loss of quality. Nevertheless, it is recommended to store the pellets for a maximum of 3 years.
